SOME OF OUR MISSING MEN
DAVID RUNDELL kindly sent this vintage (1969) photo. So where are (on the front row) JOHN SELWOOD, PETER INGLIS and (about to fall from the back of the table) JIM MARSHALL? Who is it giving Jim a shoulder charge? Most important of all, WHERE IS THE MOOSE?
HUGH BEGG had his own spot in the news section of the 2000 Alumnus Chronicle, but remember you read it first in this publication!
TERRY CRAWFORD has e-mailed, "Nothing much new here. I have ceased the travels to Poland and am working solely in Detroit. The usual winter trips to Florida to get some relief from the Michigan winters but otherwise nothing much (well, we did go to Paris for 10 days in November). Spring has finally arrived [Terry was writing in April] and the garden is a mess so I will be spending much of the weekend doing the usual spring garden things. VIV AUSTER from Kinnessburn is stopping here for a few days on his way home from his last posting by the foreign service."
Another e-mail, this time from GREG 'NOGGIN' NEWMAN, "Herewith a brief update of my (boring) life: Twenty-one years with ICL, half of it in Hongkong where I married and where my daughters were born. Made redundant by ICL and wife in 1992. For the past 12 years living in Wokingham, Berks where I was a town councillor for 4 years (made redundant again!?) Currently working for the London Borough of Barnet, looking after their Emails et cetera. My elder daughter has just completed her MSci at Bristol, the younger is at St.Andrews. If anyone is passing through Berkshire, or North London, I would welcome a chance for a jar or a jaw."
ST CLAIR STEWART on his recent visit to Scotland found time to call at Gatehouse of Fleet and chew the fat over with your Editor. St Clair's daughter is currently working in Thailand.
PHIL WHEELER regrets that he has been unable to convince his new boss to concede that he is redundant and so remains at his desk at the Royal Bank of Scotland making paper-clip chains.
AN INTERIM REUNION?
The suggestion is made that we might consider a Reunion in 2004, possibly a lunch in Edinburgh. Let your party organiser know what you think of this novel idea.
